Pirate News This Week (1/23 to 1/28)

Dear BCHS community,

• Parents, It’s that time of year again, for revisions to be made to our Title I Annual Parent Survey. All parents are invited to give input about the survey at our District Advisory Council (DAC) meetings. The DAC meetings will be 9:00am on February 2, 2012 at Blanton Elementary, 9:00am on February 7, 2012 at Eisenhower Elementary, and 6:00pm on February 9, 2012. We value your input and hope to see you at one of our DAC meetings.
• Congratulations to the following students who passed their Microsoft Word 2010 Industry Certification Exam. Great Job Students! Charles Batzer, Rafael Bustamante, Charin Campbell, Tyler Day, Lee Anne Duda, Ariel Deschapell, Charleston Fritts, Sara Hack, Ervin Haskaj, Marcus Helaire, Josh Hopkins, Marissa McKinney, Jasmine Morehead, Zachary Nelson, Nick Raghoo, Nikalia Sutherland, and Isaiah Walker-Shelby.
• Graduation fees will remain at $80 through the end of February then increase by $10 each month. On the purple handouts you will find the information for paying Grad Fees online or in person at the Herff Jones office. Herff Jones to be in the cafeteria during lunch to collect the $80 Grad Fees on February 14th and 15th. Please ignore text messages you may have received from Herff Jones about Grad fees. Call or stop in the Library to see Mrs. Spiegel and Mrs. Oldja if you have any questions regarding the Senior Class.
• All CNA Seniors - please turn in all your required papers for clinicals to Ms. Mitchell in the CWMP office. Please remember to sign up for your clinical group now. Sign up lists are posted on the door inside Ms. Pridemore’s room. You can also get your uniforms and show Ms. Pridemore you are ready to get to work! First day of clinicals starts January 24th!
• The wait is over! Interact is now accepting new members. If you are interested in community service hours, or simply like to help people, join Interact. Last semester Interact donated canned goods for local families during the holidays, volunteered and cheered at the Santa Parade and the Illuminated Boat Parade, and enjoyed a Luncheon from Rotary International. This semester Interact is working to raise funds for cancer patients and enjoying a free pasta party from Olive Garden, among other great things. For more information or to join, see Mrs. Parish in 4-102, or Mrs. Akintonde in 4-104 before the club meeting on Tuesday, January 24th.
• Seniors should also purchase their senior ads as soon as possible; ad space is almost gone!! Approximately 70 yearbooks remain; buy yours now for $70 in room 1-069.
