Boca Ciega High School 1.5 - BCHS Earth Science

Welcome to BocaCiega.org, BCHS 1.5, that's dedicated to serving the Boca Ciega High School earth science community. With this web site we expect to improve communication, increase exposure, expand student opportunities and increase student achievement.

Earth science combines the studies of: geology, oceanography, meteorology, astronomy and ecology. While we work to increase student understanding of the essential concepts in each field of study we strive to instill an appreciation for the beauty and interdependence of the systems that drive our planet, climate, oceans and atmosphere.

With each section we will pay particular attention to Florida's unique systems, their relevance to students and dependence on good stewardship. 

Mr. Yeazell and Mr. Mason have coordinated all of their planning, testing, and processes so all BCHS earth science students can come here to locate support for questions, extra credit, opportunities to get involved and testing results.

Detailed lesson plans will be added in the appropirate section as they are developed and we're working on installing forum software so that students can post their questions, submit homework, download resources and submit extra credit.

As we're just getting started on this we hope that you'll check back frequently to keep an eye on our progress.

 

Newsflash

The first reason this is named BCHS 1.5:. It's not 2.0 nor do we ever expect it to be. Web 2.0 connotes a social networking platform and we are certainly not that. We do encourage communication, the sharing of information and resources but it's only to promote the study of earth science or to enhance student success.
