Grading

Students overall grades will be calculated and assigned according to the following scale:

  • 90-100% A
  • 80-89% B
  • 70-79% C
  • 60-69% D
  • 59% & Below F

Student's overall grades for the semester will be determined by averaging their grading period scores and their final exam equally. Averages that land on .5 or better will be rounded to the higher grade.

All students will receive a written progress report approximately half way through the grading period. It is the students responsibility to bring that home for their parents review. Students absent on the day that the progress reports are assigned may pick it up the next day that they are back in class.

Extra credit is available throughout the grading period but is designed to enhance instruction, not to replace it. Extra credit is most beneficial when done in an ongoing fashion, extra credit alone will not be sufficient to make up for a pattern of failing test grades and incomplete/missing assignments.

Students will have two days from the date of an absense to submit any classwork, homework assigned for that date. It is the student's responsibility to request the assignment, or get it from the website, and to submit it in a timely fashion.
